Fun Things Going On - Volunteer Opportunities

We managed to finish off the last of the Turkey soup last night.  Thanksgiving was excellent with friends and neighbors.  We had lots of leftovers for turkey sandwiches during some incredible football games.  Now the turkey is finished and the tree has been put up.  We had the fireplace (gas) cleaned and put up the outside lights.  The colder weather is really helping to get in to the mood.  If you are really looking for some holiday spirit, tonight is the White Lighting in downtown St Marys.  Parade starts at 5:30.

Today is A newish celebration called Volunteer Tuesday.  It is to encourage volunteer participation and donation during the holidays.  In the spirit of the season, there are several opportunities to help your friends and neighbors in need during this holiday season.

Fun Things Going On:

St. Marys Annual White Lighting Processional Parade is a free fun night for all. During this delightful holiday event you'll be entertained by carolers and dancers.

The parade begins at 5:30pm, or just after dusk, at Meeting Street and helps kick off the holiday season. The public is encouraged to join the procession from Meeting Street up Osborne Street as Santa and Mrs. Claus lead the way toward the waterfront.

Santa will light the giant St. Marys Christmas Tree and then take time to sit with the kids at the St. Marys Waterfront Pavilion, behind the Christmas Tree.

Bring your camera for a quick photo with Santa!

Could this be your year?
Header2
It goes without saying that the question of "should I buy real estate this year?" is best answered with "it depends." Here’s what I mean...

It depends on your credit score: Some lenders are exercising a little more caution when it comes to assuming risk, so potential buyers should prepare for higher credit score standards. If you’ve been displaying a string of good habits in preparation for buying a home, this might be your year.

It depends on your savings: Maybe you’ve been packing your piggy bank for years in anticipation of buying a home, or you’re planning on selling your starter home and putting the cash toward a more family-friendly home. Either way, if you can come to the table with 20% down, you’ll have a tremendous edge this year.

It depends on your income: If you’ve been fortunate enough to maintain a reliable source of income, you can feel more comfortable pursuing a purchase.

It depends on your market: Some parts of the country have seen a slow-down on the skyrocketing home prices that have defined the last several years. In other places, prices continue to climb. If you’re curious how your local market has shifted, give me a call.
If you’re looking for a new way home, I can help.
