I would like to say I scaled great heights yesterday, but I spent way too much time watching history unfold. Our country is a marvel and it is always fascinating to watch the progression of each administration. I remember the election of Richard Nixon, his resignation; and , then the election of Ronald Reagan. That was the first election I was able to vote in. Haven't missed one since. Yesterday was a great day also in commemorating the loss of a man who brought so much healing to our country. We have a saying in the Navy that we do a toast to at every meal - Lest we forget. We have much to look forward to and much we need to remember.
Today, back to work. I would complain about the weather, but my daughter is waking up to 2 degrees with a high of 9. This is one of the coldest winters I remember in a long time. So I will keep busy and stay warm.

The North Florida Marine Association is proud to announce the
77th Annual Jacksonville Boat Show, January 24 – 26, 2025, at the Prime Osborn Convention Center in Jacksonville. This beloved North Florida event has been bringing together the boating community since 1947. This year’s Boat Show, sponsored by VyStar Credit Union, will offer three days of water-related fun, family- friendly activities, and educational seminars—as well as amazing, once-a-year deals on hundreds of boats and thousands of accessories. Boat Show attendees will be among the first to see and board brand-new models of all types of watercraft, including fishing boats, cruisers, ski boats, pontoons, inflatables, personal watercraft, and more!
The 77th Annual Jacksonville Boat Show highlights include:
Daily: A wide range of vendors will feature boating accessories, resources, tips, and gear. See the latest boat models on display throughout the Prime Osborn’s 75,000 square-foot show floor.
Saturday: The first 100 kids to visit the Jacksonville Sail and Power Squadron booth (#B10-11) on Saturday only will receive a FREE life vest courtesy of VyStar Credit Union.
Saturday: 10am – 1pm: Donna Frantz with Fishing 101 will host FREE Kids Fishing Clinics. The first 150 kids each day to complete the interactive clinic will receive a rod and reel combo, courtesy of Continental Battery Systems & St. Augustine Alligator Farm.
Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at 12pm: in a seminar sponsored by Dek Kat Boats, Captain Blair Wiggins will discuss Fishing Mosquito Lagoon and the Indian River Clam Restoration Project. Captain Blair was born in Florida and raised in Cocoa Beach. He grew up
fishing the Indian River lagoon system, which includes the Banana River, Indian River, and Mosquito Lagoon. Over the past 30+ years, Captain Blair has been a professional fishing guide,
tournament angler, and television host.
