What a great start to the summer season. School is out for the year, the weather was beautiful, the pools are open. Time to play and have fun. It is also hurricane season and the weather is heating up earlier than usual. I have attached a couple of short clips about preparing for hurricane's at the end of this email. Hopefully this information will not need to be used, but better to have an umbrella and it not rain...
It was my 36th anniversary yesterday. As I was working all day, my lovely husband sent me texts and little messages with hearts and flowers. When I got home I received some real flowers and a beautiful note. It is a wonderful thing to travel through the length of your life with one person. I am truly blessed and grateful for the years and experiences we have shared - good and bad.

Event by Visit St. Marys GA, Rotary Club of Camden County, GA and St. Marys Waterfront Park
The Historic St. Marys Fishing Classic and Hello Summer Festival is a charity event presented by the Rotary Club of Camden County. Acitivities include the tournament, arts & craft vendors, food trucks and vendors, raffles, and music. Join us to welcome in Summer!
The fishing tournament is a family-friendly event that also includes a kid’s fishing tournament. We keep the entry fees low to encourage families to fish together. Anglers who weigh in and donate their fish to a local food bank are entered into a drawing for $1000.
The 2024 event will be the 8th annual fishing tournament/festival. Many of our local businesses sponsor the fishing tournament. The proceeds from the event support local charities; such as the WEE-READ program and the Rotary Club Foundation.
The Rotary Club of Camden County, GA is a civic organization that performs community service work while learning about local issues and enjoying fellowship.
Captain's Meeting is 5/31 at 6pm at Captain Seagle's Saloon.

Tools to Prepare for Hurricane Season
Hurricane season has arrived − are you and your family prepared? Because you live in an area where hurricanes can occur, we want to help you protect your loved ones, your home, and your finances.
The key to reducing the risk of damage to your home and vehicle is to begin preparing now. Plan ahead with resources on evacuation routes, emergency supplies, home preparation and insurance information.
Tools to Help You Prepare
Visit our Natural Disaster Preparation Site for hurricane preparedness checklists and tools to review your coverage such as the Property Risk Assessment, Natural Disaster Coverage Review and Building Code Lookup Tool. These can help you discover if your property could be vulnerable to natural disasters and what coverage you might need.
We hope that a hurricane never strikes your property, but if it does, we always stand ready to help.
Thank you,
United Services Automobile Association
What Should You Do Before a Hurricane?
Make plans to stay safe.
Determine your best protection from high winds and flooding. Have a plan to evacuate and a plan to shelter safely. Take time now to gather the supplies and knowledge you will need when the storm arrives.
Plan to Evacuate
If advised to evacuate, do so immediately and go to a safe place.
Know where you will go, how you will get there, and where you will stay.
Plan well in advance if you will need help leaving or use public transportation.
Mobile/manufactured/trailer homes and recreational vehicles (RVs) cannot provide safe shelter from tropical-storm or hurricane-force winds.
Plan to Shelter Safely
Be ready to live without power, water, gas, phone, and internet for a long time.
Practice going to a designated safe shelter for high winds. The next best protection is a small, interior, windowless room in a sturdy building on the lowest level that is not likely to flood.
If you are in an area that is likely to flood, designate a location on higher ground that you can move to before floodwaters reach you.
