Do you have plans to travel this Easter? John and James are heading down to my mother's as she has her second knee being replaced next week. I am staying to take care of business this trip. John just had a quick visit with his mother and our daughter, Mary in PA. It's so important to stay in touch with family.
My other big project I am working on in temporarily paused. I have all my fabric cut out. I have all the new batting, thread, etc to start sewing my new cushion covers. I had John out of town for 3 days and a light work schedule. I should have checked out the sewing machine sooner. I sat down to do some test stiches, and the tension settings were all off. This being an older machine (Singer model 306) it has 5 manual tension settings. (including a tiny screw on the bobbin case. The instructions were maddening. It would say to turn the screw to adjust the tension, but not explain the results of right or left. Beyond Fabric in Kingsland has been a God send. Sarah teaches sewing classes on Amelia Island once a week. There is a repairman there, Tony Baker. She is dropping off my machine and will bring it back next week.
Other than that we are doing Spring cleaning including going through closets and drawers for clothing that hasn't been touched in years. It's time to turn out the drawers and freshen things up a bit.
